Raiders Of The Lost Ark (1981)
An New Hero Has Arrived! The movie stars Indiana Jones, Harrison Ford, a archaeology expert and scavenger who is send to find lost treasures, but always gets beat by Rene Belloq, Paul Freeman. Right off the bat the opening scene that introduced us to Indiana Jones you see that this guy is a serious deal and he has been doing this for a very long time. In the opener he steals the Golden Idol and even runs from a boulder, and this is by far the greatest introduction to a character. In this movie, he is being sent to go after the Ark of the Covenant which is believed to hold the ten commandments. In the movie he meets up with a girl he used to be with named Marion played by Karen Allen who really used Rene to distract as Indy goes after the covenant with another character named Sallah, John Rhys-Davies. A big thing I have to give this movie is the effects, this movie takes place in the early 80's but it still feels fresh to see and I really appreciate that for the movie. The other big thing I give this film is the huge stunt work going on here, especially the truck scene where you see Indy struggling to get back the driving seat as well as fighting the driver. You can truly see that Indiana Jones is a true scavenger, but he isn't perfect as you would think, there is a fear of his and that is snakes, throughout the movie you see he has a huge fear for snakes. Overall this is easily the best adventure movie that there is with one of or if not the best movie character out there, it was really cool how they managed to add fan fiction and as well as using real things like the covenant and Nazi's against them. I feel this is the best work that Steven Spielberg has ever done and it really inspire people for what we see in the future! Overall: 10/10
